Bring the family fishing with Game and Fish on Jan. 14

PHOENIX – Looking for a fun activity for the family? Come join the Arizona Game and Fish Department for a FREE fishing event on Saturday, Jan. 14, at Cortez Lake, 3434 W. Dunlap Ave., Phoenix, from 8 a.m. to noon.

No fishing license is required for this event, and loaner fishing poles and bait will be available for use.

Come out and learn:

  • How to tie and cast a fishing line
  • The basics of fly tying
  • Scaling and filleting demonstration
  • Kids can also have fun trying their skill at “backyard bass” casting

Fishing and hunting licenses that can be used for the remainder of this year will be available for purchase at the event.

Cortez Lake is located on the northeast corner of Dunlap Ave. and 35th Ave.
