Smallmouth Bass Guarding Nest – April 19, 2019

You'll need to watch full screen. The bass is very wary with a 20 foot boat hovering over the nest.

The nest was in about 8 feet of water. As you can see the Smallmouth Bass prefer a pebble covered bottom for nesting.

Typically they'll build nests in 6 to 10 feet of water.
